Art Night at Verbode
Our art shows showcasing the most talented, renowned artists in the state. These shows are free to attend, and 10% of proceeds raised from artwork sales directly benefit the Homeless Alliance.
Ways to Get Involved
Homeless Alliance
The Homeless Alliance works to end long-term homelessness in Oklahoma City by building the capacity of the community through collaboration with other agencies, identifying and filling gaps in homeless services, bringing nationally-recognized best practices to the community, and working to build a system that is more efficient, rational, and caring.
The Curbside Chronicle
If you've seen people with green vests and magazines while driving around town, then you've seen the Homeless Alliance in action. The Curbside Chronicle is an award-winning street paper that provides employment opportunities to individuals working to end their homelessness.
Curbside Flowers
In February of 2020, the first class of graduates completed OSU-OKC's retail floral certification. Homeless Alliance's brick-and-mortar flower shop opened December 2020 and provides additional employment and skill-building opportunities.
Pivot
Pivot works with young people ages 15-24 who lack stability and support in their lives. Homeless youth are at a higher risk for becoming unemployed, addicted to substances, untreated for mental health issues, and other challenges. Through supportive housing and case management, Pivot is working to change this narrative.
Sisu Youth Services
Sisu provides overnight shelter, clothing, hot meals, and case management to Oklahoma City's youth experiencing homelessness, ages 15-24. They are a low barrier, LGBTQ+ affirming, safe space for Oklahoma City's vulnerable populations.
City Care
City Care strives to eliminate barriers for individuals experiencing homelessness by offering low-barrier shelter, supportive housing, and comprehensive homeless services.
Sunbeam Senior Shelter
Designed with the frail and elderly in mind, Sunbeam's 11-bed senior shelter serves residents statewide by referral from social service providers, area law enforcement, and hospitals. Their goal is to help residents find permanent housing within 30 days.
Women's Sanctuary
The Sanctuary Women’s Development Center supports basic human rights by offering homeless and low-income women and children resources, providing support and advocacy to alleviate the effects of poverty within the community and providing tools to overcome homelessness.
Positive Tomorrows
Positive Tomorrows provides elementary school education for children experiencing homelessness as well as case management and social services for their parents. They are currently the only elementary school and social services provider specifically for homeless families.
City Rescue Mission
City Rescue Mission is a faith-based nonprofit offering temporary shelter, case management, and programs such as job training and educational opportunities to support individuals transitioning out of homelessness.
